Mini Wasps (parasitic wasps)

Mini wasps are a small group of wasps (2-3 mm), which multiply by laying their eggs in fly pupae, thereby developing mini wasp larvae from the fly pupae instead of flies. Through this workflow, they are a natural enemy of, among other, house flies (Musca domestica) and biting house flies - alson known as stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans).

Mini wasps are used as fly control instead of chemicals

Mini wasps live wildly in most of Europe, but at Miljøfluen® we specialize in raising them in such large numbers that they can be used in pig or cattle stables to fight flies. Thus the use of biocides and chemicals can be avoided, which may lose their effect over time due to the development of resistance to the products.

Mini wasps are well suited for deep bedding

Mini wasps are especially well suited for fighting in stables with deep bedding. If you do not have deep bedding in the stable, but for example slurry ducts, then the predatory flies can be used instead

You receive the Mini wasps by post

The Mini wasps are packed in airtight cups, which we send directly to the customer by post. Unwanted flies will continue to invade your stables and therefore, the wasps must be supplied into the stable environment on a regular basis. For that reason, a control solution with Mini wasps works as a subscription without binding.

We send you a mix of different mini wasp species

Mini wasps from the Miljøfluen® are a mixture of several different mini wasp species. The species complement each other well in the fight against annoying flies in the stable, as they work at different depths of the deep bedding.

Of course, the Mini wasps are SPF approved and you can use them in both conventional and organic herds
