Mini wasps (also known as parasitic wasps) live naturally in and around stables, but they breed slowly. Therefore it is necessary to add mini wasps to the stables so that they can fight the stable flies efficiently.
Mini wasps lay their eggs in the fly pupae and develop as mini wasp larvae in the stable fly pupae. They eat the content of the fly pupae and hatch as mini wasps instead of stable flies. The mini wasps stay in the manure area.
Miljøfluen’s mini wasps are a mix of different kinds of mini wasp species, however, mainly Nasonia Vitripennis. The species complement each other well, and Nasonia Vitripennis lay many eggs and is therefore ideal in the biological control of flies
